MonSuiviCA: why I stopped struggling with a spreadsheet to track my revenue

7 min lecture

"How much revenue are you doing?"

Meeting with a client. He asks me the question. I pull out my phone, open my spreadsheet, and struggle for four minutes in front of him. He waits. I calculate.

That day, I understood two things. First, this question comes up in every serious conversation. Second, most sole proprietors (myself included) are unable to answer it without opening three tabs.

So I built the tool I wished I'd had that day. It's called MonSuiviCA, it's live at monsuivica.fr, and here's the story behind it.

The question that comes up every time

A partner, a client, a banker, the URSSAF, a social benefits simulation, a professional lease application, an accountant, a potential investor: they all ask the same question.

"How much do you make per month?" "What's your revenue over the last six months?" "Are you going to hit the ceiling this year?"

And the honest answer, for many entrepreneurs, is: I don't know exactly, I need to calculate.

The problem isn't a lack of seriousness. It's that existing tools don't do this work simply:

📊 An Excel or Google Sheets spreadsheet requires manual rigor: every invoice entered by hand, every payment verified, every line kept up to date 🧮 Accounting software (Indy, Tiime, Freebe and the like) is designed for tax filings, not for answering "how much did you make this month?" in three seconds 📱 Business banks show gross deposits, without distinguishing actual revenue from refunds or personal transfers

Result: you guess, you approximate, or you lose four minutes in front of a client.

Why I built MonSuiviCA

I'm a sole proprietor in Guadeloupe. My activity mixes BNC (non-commercial profits, professional/liberal income) and BIC (industrial and commercial profits, services). My URSSAF contribution rates aren't those of mainland France: the French Overseas Departments and Regions (DROM) benefit from reduced rates that the majority of simulators flat-out ignore.

Concretely, in 2026, I pay:

🌴 17.10% on my professional/liberal revenue (vs. 24.60% in mainland France) 🌴 8.20% on my sales (vs. 12.30% in mainland France) 🌴 14.20% on my services revenue (vs. 21.20% in mainland France)

Three quarters of online tools apply mainland rates by default. Those that handle the DROM case do it halfway, or skip the distinction between Guadeloupe, Martinique, Réunion, French Guiana, and Mayotte. The calculation gap can exceed 30% on a monthly contribution. Over a year, that's no longer a detail.

Add to that the Aide à la Création ou à la Reprise d'Entreprise (ACRE), France's business creation/takeover support scheme, which in 2026 changes mid-year: 50% exemption from January 1st to June 30th, then 75% from July 1st to December 31st. No simulator tracks this change automatically. I checked.

The conclusion was simple: either I kept hacking around in a spreadsheet, or I built the tool I actually wanted to use. I picked the second option.

What the app does

MonSuiviCA is real-time revenue tracking, designed for sole proprietors and micro-entrepreneurs who want to answer any question about their activity in three seconds.

Day-to-day revenue tracking

You record your invoices as they come in (amount, date, activity type, paid or pending status). The app shows in real time your revenue for the current month, the quarter, the year, compared to the previous year.

On the dashboard, the number is big, readable, no extra click required. You open the app, you answer.

Accurate URSSAF calculations by zone and activity

The app applies the correct rates based on:

🗺️ Your tax zone (mainland France, DROM Guadeloupe / Martinique / Réunion / French Guiana, Mayotte) 🧾 Your activity type (sale of goods, services, professional/liberal, mixed) 🏛️ Your pension fund (Sécurité Sociale des Indépendants, Caisse Interprofessionnelle de Prévoyance et d'Assurance Vieillesse) 🎁 Your ACRE status (2026 rates automatically adjusted on July 1st)

The mixed sector (BNC + BIC at the same time) is supported: the app calculates contributions separately by income category, then adds them up. No approximation.

Micro-entrepreneur and VAT threshold alerts

The app continuously monitors the two critical thresholds:

🚨 The micro-entrepreneur revenue ceiling (€188,700 for sales, €77,700 for services in 2026) 🚨 The VAT exemption thresholds, which trigger mandatory VAT registration

You receive an alert as soon as your current pace projects you to exceed a threshold within the year. Not after. Before.

Micro-entrepreneur info page

I added a dedicated page that summarizes, in plain French, the rules of the micro-entrepreneur regime in 2026: ceilings, contributions, declarations, VAT options, Cotisation Foncière des Entreprises (CFE, local business property tax), income tax discharge payment, ACRE, DROM schemes. No administrative jargon, no copy-paste from service-public.fr: a usable synthesis.

Current status and access

MonSuiviCA is live at monsuivica.fr, with up-to-date 2026 rates.

The referral program offers 3 × 15 free days: 15 days for you on signup, and 15 days offered for each friend you refer (who also gets a 15-day bonus). Three successful referrals = 45 extra days on top of your initial 15.

The goal for the coming months: integrate invoicing directly into the app (creation, sending, automatic reminders), offer a "multi-country tax sector" mode for entrepreneurs operating between mainland France and the Caribbean, and open an API to automatically sync with Qonto, Shine, or Revolut Business pro accounts.

Field report: what it changed in my daily life

I built the app for myself, first. Three months of internal use before opening access.

What concretely changed:

✅ I no longer touch a spreadsheet. All my invoices are recorded in seconds from my phone, the same day. ✅ When a client or partner asks me my numbers, I answer without thinking. It's become a silent sales argument. ✅ I know exactly how much to set aside for URSSAF before each quarterly deadline. No more surprises, no more "just in case" buffer sleeping in the current account. ✅ The month my cumulative revenue approached the VAT exemption threshold, I was alerted three weeks ahead. Enough time to adjust my invoicing and plan a clean VAT transition.

What's not (yet) perfect:

⚠️ Automatic import from banks isn't wired in. Invoices are entered manually (fast, but not zero-effort) ⚠️ No native iOS / Android version yet (Progressive Web App for now, but it installs to the home screen and works offline) ⚠️ Deductible business expense tracking is coming in the next version, for entrepreneurs under the standard tax regime

Who it's useful for

If you're a sole proprietor, a micro-entrepreneur, or considering taking the leap, and you check at least one of these boxes:

🎯 You can never instantly answer "how much revenue are you making right now?" 🎯 You pay your URSSAF contributions while crossing your fingers there's enough in the account 🎯 You're in a DROM and you're tired of simulators applying mainland rates 🎯 You're approaching a ceiling (micro-entrepreneur or VAT) and you want to know where you really stand 🎯 You combine two activities (BNC and BIC) and your calculations go off the rails

The app is made for that. And it's made by someone who lives the same daily reality.

The takeaway

Building a tool because you need it yourself remains, in 2026, the best method to make something useful. Not a product for an abstract market: a product for a specific pain you experience every month.

MonSuiviCA isn't meant to replace an accountant. It's meant to eliminate the four minutes of spreadsheet in front of a client, and turn the question "how much do you make?" into a three-second answer.

If you're struggling with your revenue tracking, go try it at monsuivica.fr. And if you see what can be improved, tell me at contact@monsuivica.fr. It's still early days, and every piece of feedback shapes what comes next.
